We do not request or collect sensitive personal data such as passport numbers, financial account details, immigration reference numbers, or health information through this website. If you include such information voluntarily in a contact form message, you do so at your own discretion.

2.2 Technical Data (Collected Automatically)

When you visit vizguides.com, our hosting infrastructure and analytics services automatically collect certain technical data. This data does not directly identify you as an individual but may constitute personal data under GDPR when combined with other information.

Cookies & Third-Party Tracking

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website when you visit it. Cookies allow websites to recognise your device on subsequent visits and to collect information about your browsing behaviour. VizGuides uses cookies for analytical and, where applicable, advertising purposes.

5.1 Types of Cookies We Use

5.2 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics collects data about your use of this website and transmits it to Google servers in the United States. We have enabled IP anonymisation, which means your IP address is truncated within the EU before transmission.

Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5.3 Google AdSense

Where advertising is displayed on vizguides.com, we may use Google AdSense, a service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to collect data about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide targeted advertisements. This processing is subject to your prior consent, which we obtain via our cookie consent banner.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or by using the Your Online Choices opt-out tool operated by the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA).

5.4 Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can manage or withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time using the following methods:

  • Cookie consent banner — click "Manage Cookies" or "Cookie Settings" in the consent banner displayed on your first visit to vizguides.com
  • Browser settings — most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their privacy or security settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect website functionality
  • Google Analytics opt-out — install the browser add-on from Google
  • Advertising opt-out — visit adssettings.google.com to control personalised ad preferences
Withdrawing cookie consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before your withdrawal. Essential cookies cannot be disabled without significantly impairing your ability to use this website.
Section 06

Sharing Your Data

VizGuides does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not share your personal data with immigration agencies, medical recruiters, visa consultancies, or any commercial partners for their own marketing or operational purposes.

We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers (data processors): Third-party providers who process data on our behalf and under our instruction, including our web hosting provider, Google Analytics, and email service providers. All processors are contractually bound to process data only as we direct and to implement appropriate security measures.
  • Legal obligations: Where we are legally required to disclose data to a competent authority — such as the Data Protection Commission, An Garda Síochána, or a court — we will comply with any lawful order. Where permitted by law, we will notify you of such disclosure.
  • Protection of rights: Where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VizGuides, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfer: In the event that VizGuides is subject to a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will provide notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Section 07

International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers — notably Google LLC (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) — are headquartered in the United States and may process your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). The transfer of personal data to third countries is subject to the requirements of Chapter V of the GDPR.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): We rely on the European Commission's approved SCCs where applicable, including for our use of Google services. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which has been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection under the Commission Decision of 10 July 2023.
  • Adequacy decisions: Where the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for the destination country, we rely on that decision as the transfer mechanism.

You may obtain a copy of the safeguards we rely on for any specific transfer by contacting us at info@vizguides.com.

Section 08

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data. These rights are not absolute — they are subject to conditions and limitations set out in the GDPR — but VizGuides is committed to facilitating their exercise promptly and without undue restriction.

📂 Right of Access Art. 15

You have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data, and if so, to receive a copy of that data together with information about how it is used, stored, and shared.

✏️ Right to Rectification Art. 16

You have the right to require us to correct inaccurate personal data and to complete incomplete data without undue delay.

🗑️ Right to Erasure Art. 17

Also called the "right to be forgotten." You may request the deletion of your personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, where you withdraw consent, or where processing was unlawful.

⏸️ Right to Restrict Processing Art. 18

You may request a temporary suspension of processing — for example, while you contest the accuracy of your data or pending resolution of an objection.

📤 Right to Data Portability Art. 20

Where processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (e.g. CSV or JSON).

🚫 Right to Object Art. 21

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data based on our legitimate interests. We will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your rights.

↩️ Right to Withdraw Consent Art. 7(3)

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

⚖️ Right to Lodge a Complaint Art. 77

If you believe we have violated your data protection rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) at dataprotection.ie.

To exercise any of these rights, please submit your request in writing to info@vizguides.com. We will respond within one calendar month of receiving your request as required by Article 12(3) GDPR. We will not charge a fee for handling a request unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
